Tahara Suri Alpaca Stud

Tahara has chosen to concentrate on the Suri Alpaca, which Diane has been breeding since 1993. At this time she was living in NSW and so her initial breeding program concentrated on Peruvian Senator and ILR Peruvian Amador bloodlines. Hence her success with an Amador son Tahara Illumini who was 2003 National Supreme Champion Suri and who was sold at auction to Bill and Annette Robbins of Traron Alpacas at the National Auction that year.

Since that time Surilana bloodlines have been introduced, most notably Surilana Icalon. Tahara Zahira, an Icalon daughter and two time National Champion, co-owned with Surilana, is the dam of Tahara Zabar ET. Zabar, VCR Suri Alpaca of the year for 2009 together with Tahara Pascali, an Amador son, and Tahara Zip Code, a Chia Park Zip Drive progeny, are the sires currently being used at Tahara.

Tahara did not enter as there was insufficient time to enter having just returned from a trip to Peru

Surilana Bosisto, Icalon, Zozimo and Ti Pito
Tahara Illumini—although Illumini was sold after the 2003 National, Tahara has retained some services and are awaiting the arrival of his progeny
Surilana Monsieur Claude—now has some excellent cria for viewing
Tahara Chimu—has been used over our coloured girls and also has his first cria available for viewing
Tahara Panache and Pascali—now being used extensively
Mole End Cinnamon (Ausfinesuri—co-owned with Wallaby Ridge Alpacas and Banyandah Alpacas.) Cinnamon is a Rose Grey Suri and has been used on some of the coloured girls

Strategic outcrosses are also undertaken.
